Sprint Racing – FUNdamentals

Description

Our sprint racing programs are designed for children 7 to 14 years old.  The program is geared towards fun, racing technique, balance, and an introduction to competition. Participants will learn to paddle single, double, and four-person canoes and kayaks, along with everybody’s favourite, the War Canoe.

While enrolled in this program, the athletes will have the opportunity to race all kinds of boats at different regattas.  This is a fun introduction to a competitive environment.  This program offers a great opportunity for beginners and experienced paddlers alike to discover the joys of working towards a goal.  It provides healthy competition and community spirit in a fun outdoor environment.

The 2009 Sprint Racing – FUNdamental Team was the Trillium 2009 Champion and was honoured with the James Kelly Memorial Award from the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame. Everyone contributed to this great acheivement and we hope to recruit many new young paddlers. Don’t be shy!  Come and try our sport.  Everyone is welcome.
