Description
This program is intended for adults looking to get involved in the great sports of canoeing and kayaking. The program is geared towards getting active while enjoying the summer weather and watching gorgeous sunsets over Trout Lake.
The NBCC has combined several programs into one. Two evenings per week (Tuesday and Thursday) will be dedicated to Dragon Boat Fitness practices and the two alternate evenings (Monday and Wednesday) will focus on recreational canoe and kayak paddling. Certified instructors will teach proper paddling techniques and water safety, providing both exercise and an opportunity to try a wide variety of boats. Participants will receive two programs for the price of one.
Also, this program includes our competitive adult Dragon Boat teams. Those boats are composed of adults who are committed to their permanent crew and who attend up to 3 workouts per week. No Dragon Boating experience is needed to join a team and we do not refuse anyone who is ready to put effort into this serious fitness experience. There are no limitations on the number of adults in the program, so don’t be afraid of being turned away, we will find a spot on the right team for you! The crew members of these teams are still eligible to participate in the other sessions offered at 6pm Monday to Thursday if their own crew is not practicing at those times.
